During the earliest days when the world was young, Bathala, the great Creator, appointed Sol and Luna to take care of the world. In their daily encounter working together, forbidden love grew between Sol and Luna, poisoning the world they so dearly cared for. Although a painful decision, Bathala had to separate them to prevent further damage. Since it was Sol who pursued Luna, Bathala gave Sol light to care for the plants and trees that were destroyed. On the other hand, Bathala placed Luna in darkness so that no one would see her beauty and fall in love with her again.

Since then, Sol became the Day and Luna became the Night. In spite of the distance, their love remained strong, surpassing the endless chase of Sol for Luna, day and night. Bathala was moved by the incessant warmth of their love. Thus, from time to time he allowed Sol and Luna to cross paths: the eclipse. And as time ticked away, Sol and Luna bore children they called Estrellias, which means stars.

Sol, in all his unending love for Luna, could not bear for her to be sad in seasons when they were separated. Hence, he allowed their children to be with Luna, so she will not be alone while waiting for Sol... until their paths cross again.
